Review: SHY Martin – Feelings

Raised in the small town of Lerdala, Sweden, SHY Martin first began writing songs and poetry in her youth as a means of self-expression. “I was never good at talking about my feelings, so I wrote them down instead. When I was sad, my mom and I wrote letters to each other. I sang almost more than I talked, so expressing myself through music became natural”, SHY describes.

It’s always a good day when new music from SHY Martin lands in our inbox. Titled ‘Feelings’, we’re immediately drawn in by her voice and writing style. It’s unique enough to stand out, but more importantly, there’s a special magic to her voice that we fall in love with every time we listen.

“I was going through some major changes when we wrote ‘Feelings’ and felt extremely lost and exhausted. I wasn’t sure I wanted to release more music, so I stopped writing for myself for a while, but after writing this song I found myself listening to the demo every time I was working out or on my way to the studio. The lyrics were pretty much about what I was going through and had been feeling for a long time.”, SHY Martin says.

Regardless of your music taste, we feel confident standing behind SHY Martin this year and we’re anxious to hear more from the promising artist in the coming months. Check out ‘Feelings’ for yourself and let us know what you think, and don’t forget to support the artist by giving SHY Martin a follow on social media and discover your next favorite artist.
