Cherry Angel says on the song, “Living in a dream-like state, ‘Cherry Dream’ is a happy-sad song about a girl nostalgic for a past love that she now can only visit in her dreams. In hopes of manifesting this love, she spills her guts and admits her faults, all while wishing to go back in time to fix wherever it went wrong. This concept, although somewhat delusional and dangerous to one’s mental health, is a reality so many people face when love is lost. We re-rack the brain and dissect the what ifs. This song is about love and depression. She yearns to stay asleep so that they can always be together. Since she can’t go back and she can’t move forward, she is staying still, reliving the happy memories. For now they meet up in her dreams because her dreams are better than her reality.”
