Review: The Mellons – What a Time to Be Alive

The Mellons are a baroque-pop outfit from Salt Lake City, Utah. Their sound is marked by sunshine-y melodies and melancholy lyrics, all wrapped in rich orchestral stylings and backed by a sturdy rock groove.

It’s a beautiful Monday morning and to get things started we have this brand new record from The Mellons titled ‘What a Time to Be Alive’. We love this track for several reasons, the instrumentation is original and stunning and takes up all of your attention, and the vocals add an intimate touch and the lyricism is rich with imagery, pay attention as you listen along.

If you’re a fan of Indie Rock or Psychedelic Rock, you’re going to love this. This band makes some really exciting and unique stuff and we look forward to hearing more from them in the coming months. Check out “What a Time to Be Alive” for yourself and don’t forget to connect with The Mellons to stay up to date on any upcoming releases and enjoy!
