Review: Laur Elle – Hate That You Love Me

“I started by writing poetry as an angsty teen, then picked up a guitar and fell in love with songwriting. I got sidetracked by the real world and went to University of Alberta, finishing with a teaching degree.( I hated it) Here I am now, not teaching, and doing something I love more than anything. I’m working on my deluxe EP for The Art of Pretending which will be released soon.”

Laur Elle returns with a brand new single, titled ‘Hate That You Love Me’. The promising artist’s writing style channels a powerful but delicate-sounding performance from start to finish. A sound that not only demands your attention… but will set the tone for what’s to come.

‘Hate That You Love Me’ is bold, mysterious, and backed by punchy kick drums and ethereal-like harmonies, Laur Elle continues to raise the bar while simultaneously exceeding all of our expectations. In conclusion, it’s safe to say she deserves our full attention moving forward. (Check out her Spotify)

“Hate that you love me is an upbeat modern pop rock song about meeting the right person at the wrong time. I wrote “Hate that you love me” after the worst breakup I’d ever experienced. I was in a bad place mentally and wanted to take the time to find myself again. But of course as soon as I started to do that I met the most amazing person in the world and couldn’t stand the thought of losing them. I found myself flipping back and forth between doing everything I could to heal while in a new relationship, to feeling guilty for not being ready for one.” -Laur Elle
